Verification of Champagne Electronic Certificates of Origin

Would you like to verify the authenticity of an electronic Certificate of Origin (eCO) issued by the CIVC? The tools offered to you depend on the documents/information at your disposal: PDF file, XML file or simply the assigned CO No.

Case 1: you have an eCO in the form of a PDF file (can be read with Acrobat Reader)
If you use PDF eCOs regularly, you would be well advised to configure your Acrobat Reader programme so it recognises the CIVC’s digital signature (follow the procedure). Alternatively, you can use the CIVC’s online verifier.

Case 2: you have an eCO in the form of a XML file (can be manipulated by a software programme)
You can obtain an immediate opinion via CIVC’s online verifier.

Case 3: you only have an eCO number in the form of “FRCIVC000000000000”
If you only have an assigned eCO number (only item transmitted, printed eCO, etc.), you can obtain some information that will let you crosscheck the data available to you via customs’ “Aubette” (newsstand) at https://pro.douane.gouv.fr. Alternatively, you can use the CIVC’s online verifier.
